EVERSON SELECTED AS NEW CADDO PARISH COMMISSION CLERK
The Caddo Parish Commission has selected a new Commission Clerk. Jeff Everson was selected by the Commission by majority vote during its December 21 special meeting, replacing Todd Hopkins, who is retiring after ten years as Clerk and with thirty years of service with Caddo Parish.
Everson pulls knowledge and experience from his past roles in community development, government, and business. He was elected to the Shreveport City Council representing District B in 2010 and reelected in 2014. In his professional role, Jeff currently works as a commercial real estate agent with Lea Hall Properties. He has worked in as a compressed natural gas development in the Haynesville Shale, as the Regional Manager (of North and Central Louisiana) to U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu. He was the Director of Development for the Alliance for Education and he began his career with the City of Memphis’ Department of Community Development.
Jeff’s service to the community includes involvement with a wide variety of community and neighborhood organizations and civic groups. He currently serves as board member for The Arc of Shreveport-Bossier and Shreveport Common. Everson is a former Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional’s Initiative, and former Vice President of the Board for the Caddo Council on Aging.
Jeff attended Byrd High School and Centenary College where he was an active member of his college community and an honor graduate with two degrees (Business Administration with Finance minor and Economics with Political Science minor).
