  1. Wild Child Summer Camp 2019 (FULL)

    June 17, 2019, 9:00 AM - June 21, 2019, 4:00 PM @ Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park

    ALL CAMPS ARE FULL Do you have a wild child? This camp is designed for kids aged 7-12 who love nature and want to increase their outdoor skills and nature knowledge. Each week will include lots of time outdoors, hands-on educational activities, hiking, arts & crafts, games, and field trips. Campers should bring a lunch and reusable water bottle. Two snacks will be provided. Limited to 12 children per week. Cost is $80 per child per week. Call (318) 929-2806 to reserve a spot. Payment in check or money-order form and completed application are due within 5 business days of registration. No refunds will be given after June 1.   2. The Fungus Among Us

    Join Park Naturalist Daniel Mills to discover the fasicnating world of fungi. You will learn how to identify several common varieties of mushrooms and explore ways fungi is important to the forest and its inhabitants. Participants can expect a short classroom presentation and a hike. Bring a journal or notepad and dress for the weather. Ages 12 & up. Free but space is limited. Preregistration is required.

  3. 28th Annual Hooked On Fishing

    June 22, 2019, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Earl G. Williamson Park

    Hooked on Fishing is an annual event that introduces kids to the basics of fishing and boating & water safety. Kids will rotate through several stations to: -Compete in a fishing tournament with help from the Louisiana Greater Caddo Lake Association -Identify common fish and practice casting with Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries -See a live alligator from Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park -Learn about safety on and off the water with our local heroes at- Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Caddo Fire District #7 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters -Make a fun craft with Shreveport Green Lunch will provided for all participating children by Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation with help from the Oil City Rotary Club.
