JUVENILE SERVICES HOSTS FIRST ANNUAL
HEALTH, WELLNESS AND INFORMATION FAIR
The Caddo Parish Department of Juvenile Services partnered with area community organizations to host the first annual Health, Wellness and Information Fair on Saturday, December 9 at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds Agricultural Building.
The fair, aimed at assisting Juvenile Services clients, provided information and assistance on health screenings, dietary and fitness assistance, substance abuse, educational and job related services, as well as mental health services in the community.
“We have found that it is sometimes difficult for our clients to get all of the information they may need when they have to go to multiple places for multiple resources,” said Muriel Burns, Assistant Director of Juvenile Services. “The Health and Wellness Information Fair is a one stop shop to provide better access to the information our clients need,” said Burns.
Dozens of community organizations partnered with Juvenile Services. In addition to the information provided, organizations were on hand to provide STD screenings, free flu shots, dental exams and free haircuts.
