CADDO PARISH COMMISSION TO STREAM MEETINGS VIA FACEBOOK LIVE
The Caddo Parish Commission will provide another option for the public to view Commission work session and regular session meetings.
Beginning August 3, regular session meetings will broadcast via Facebook Live at 3:30pm on the first and third Thursday of each month. Work sessions will also be broadcast at 3:30pm on the Monday prior to each Thursday regular session. All Facebook Live streams can be accessed from the Parish’s official Facebook page.
"This is another progressive step the Parish Commission is taking to promote open and transparent work in government,” said Steven Jackson, Commission President. “Facebook Live allows citizens to remotely attend our meetings to educate themselves on the issues that we decide as opposed to having our words and intent skewed by individuals who seek to intentionally invoke a spirit of cynicism and doubt in government. Government functions best when we allow citizens the opportunity to get educated and engaged," said Jackson.
Citizens interested in accessing the Facebook livestream can do so by visiting the Parish’s official Facebook page and liking it to access the live feed. The official Facebook page can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/parishofcaddo.
The Caddo Parish Commission is the first local government in the state to take advantage of Facebook Live for public meetings.
In addition to the new Facebook Live stream, Caddo Parish Commission meetings are streamed live from the Parish’s official website at http://www.caddo.org and are also telecast live on Comcast Public Access Channel 6. All previous Commission meetings are also archived and available for viewing on the Parish’s website.
